Attractions

Tro and the surrounding area offer a variety of experiences and attractions. Just 100–200 meters from Haugen Camping lies Troosen, a natural swimming spot with brackish water – ideal for children and teenagers. On the southern side of the island, you’ll find Trovika, a beautiful sandy beach, perfect for sunbathing and swimming.

Er du glad i å gå tur så anbefales en tur til Røyfjellet, som er et fjell med spektakulær utsikt i alle retninger. For those interested in history, you can visit Bronze Age graves in Tangen or the rock carvings in Trovika, which also date back to the Bronze Age. In Valen, there is a site with carvings related to hunting and fishing, including the famous “Skier of Tro.” Another rock carving site can be found on Flatøya – you can get there by boat, which is available for rent directly at Haugen Camping. Nearby, you’ll also find the historic trading post of Tro from the 19th century, which reflects the island’s role as a hub for trade and travel along the coast.

The wildlife on Tro is rich and diverse: sea eagles, deer, moose, and many bird species call this island home. The island also hosts unique plants and flowers, including orchids.

Whether you want to relax by the sea, explore historical traces, or simply enjoy the peace and beauty of nature – at Haugen Camping, we warmly welcome you. Everything is ready here for creating wonderful memories – for all ages and interests.
